Hypoadiponectemia is associated with metabolic syndrome in patients with type 2 diabetes.

This study showed that lower serum adiponectin levels were positively associated with MetS in patients with type 2 DM and significantly positively related to age but negatively related to serum insulin and HDL-C levels in these subjects.
