Abstract: Electricity Distribution Network Operators (DNO’s) in the UK face uncertainty about future peak loading on the network at a time when electrification of heat and transport is expected to increase the demand for electricity and continued increase in distributed generation (DG) presents other challenges for managing the network. This paper discusses a new decision support tool for load related investment planning, in a time of future load forecast uncertainty, at Northern Powergrid (NPg) – a DNO in the North of England.
