Flow Cytometric Analysis of Cells Obtained from Human Bone Marrow Cultures
Year: 2020
Type: book-chapter
Abstract: In recent years, progress in the elucidation of molecular controls of cell replication and differentiation, on the one hand, and the development of sophisticated cell culture techniques, on the other, has lead to the development of a new field of research called tissue engineering [ 1-4 ]. The primary goal of this endeavor is to reconstitute functioning human tissue ex vivo, primarily for therapeutic cell transplantation. Many tissues are currently under active research, including bone, cartilage, skin, liver, kidney, and bone marrow [ 1-4 ].
