Abstract: (analytical)Cartooning is a medium that is used by young people to share personal experiences and express their perspective on a topic that they find appealing. Few studies have addressed the motivational, pragmatic and thematic aspects of adolescents' cartoons in an articulated manner. With this purpose, we carried out a multidimensional analysis of 151 multimedia texts created by children and adolescents aged 10 to 19 years old during 9 workshops that were implemented in formal and informal education contexts in Argentina. Multivariate analyses allowed us to identify age-based and format differences (single panel or comic strips) based on the children and adolescents' motivation and themes. Keywords: Developmental psychology, childhood, adolescence, visual arts, motivation, humor.
