Abstract: 'Transmitting cinema: Some proposals for our time' was a conference that took place at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona on 13–14 July 2017, as part of the international European film education programme Moving Cinema. This report summarizes and reflects upon some of the discussions that took place at the conference – exploring some of the most resonant questions facing film education practitioners and cultural partners in diverse contexts across Europe – before going on to make a timely series of proposals for European film education in 2018.
