Raconte-moi ton mouvement : comment le psychomotricien peut-il agir sur le mouvement de la personne pour l'accompagner vers une conscience de Soi ?

Type: dissertation
Abstract: It is by movement that man is created. First by the movement of others, through the mother's care, then by his own sensorial, motor and relational exploration, the child acquires his independance, both physical and psychological. He achieves self-consciousness as a being in his own. However, life courses may affect this movement via a disability or through ageing. Movement can in this case be altered : it can either be lacking, impeded by the disability, by fear or by pain ; or particularly active, in a way that can seem chaotic. In this case, how is selfconsciousness achieved ? This singular movement affects its implementation and its continuity, thus affecting the child's way of moving. Movement is therefore both the cause and the symptom of that psycho-corporal deficiency. The whole mission of the psychomotor therapist is to regulate this movement, to help the patient experiment its richness and its diversity, in order to support him during the construction or reconstruction of his self-consciousness. For this purpose, he operates where awareness is lacking : on the representation of the body itself.
