Low-grade Glioma: Principles of Diagnosis and Drug Treatment

Year: 2020
Type: book-chapter
Abstract: Low-grade gliomas (LGGs) comprise the most common brain tumor entity arising in childhood, accounting for about one-third of all newly diagnosed pediatric brain tumors. 1 The term “LGG” refers to a group of various low-grade glial tumors classified as grade I or grade II according to the World Health Organization (WHO) classification. 2 Separation among LGG variants can be difficult by classical histology alone and inclusion of molecular diagnostic information for accurate diagnosis of LGG subtypes is increasingly discussed. 3
