Coordination of NMCP1- and NMCP2-class proteins within the plant nucleoskeleton

Abstract: NMCP proteins with extended coiled-coil domains are major structural components of the nucleoskeleton in plant cells. We show that the three NMCP1-type proteins in Arabidopsis maintain the nuclear pool of the single NMCP2-type protein, which gains access to the nucleus through interaction with the importin-α isoform, IMPA-1.
