Abstract: This article presents a structural map of the agents operating in the local radio and television sector in the Canary Islands through the spectrum. The objective is to characterize the local communication system in the territory, taking as the main line of scientific reflection the research on the concept of diversity applied to the field of audiovisual industries (McQuail, 1998; Napoli, 1999; Albornoz and García Leiva, 2017a and 2017b). Based on the analysis of the agents who are granted broadcasting licenses and the signals emitted through them, the research reveals that the map is configured around an idea of diversity understood as insularity, in accordance with the territory.
