Tissue Engineering: Controlled Apoptosis of Stromal Cells to Engineer Human Microlivers (Adv. Funct. Mater. 48/2020)
Year: 2020
Type: article
Abstract: Tools are limited in resolving the dynamic contributions of multicellular interactions in bioengineered tissues. In article number 1910442, Sangeeta N. Bhatia and co-workers present CAMEO (controlled apoptosis in multicellular tissues for engineering organogenesis) as a strategy to precisely manipulate and study tissue composition. Herein, organoids comprised of hepatocytes (red) and fibroblasts (green) are used to glean new insights into 3D tissue biology.
