Balancing the Risks and Benefits of Benzodiazepines

Abstract: Following a September 2020 FDA announcement of a boxed warning for benzodiazepines, this Viewpoint reviews the relative benefits and risks of the drugs to reduce overuse in at-risk patients, moderate underuse in clinically appropriate instances, and guide judicious, rational prescribing.
