Phagosomal pH Regulation: Revealing the Phagosomal pH Regulation and Inflammation of Macrophages after Endocytosing Polyurethane Nanoparticles by A Ratiometric pH Nanosensor (Adv. Biology 1/2021)
Year: 2021
Type: article
Abstract: In article number 2000200, Chung-Yuan Mou, Shan-hui Hsu, and co-workers develop a pH nanosensor made of mesoporous silica nanoparticles (NPs) and coated with biodegradable polyurethane (PU) to reveal the intracellular journey of the PU NPs. The alkalinization process of the activated macrophages is delayed after taking up PU NPs, which leads to late endosomelysosome fusion and causes a weak immune response against the biodegradable PU.
