Abstract: Several halo-substituted alkoxypyridines were prepared and subjected to directed metalation and metalhalogen exchange reactions.The studies resulted in useful methods for synthesis of numerous substituted pyridines via regioselective lithiation, magnesation and halogen dance reactions.
