Abstract: F-NaF uptake in non-cardiac arteries in both healthy controls and patients at-risk suggests CA calcification is a late manifestation of atherosclerosis. This differential expression of atherosclerosis is likely due to interaction of hemodynamic parameters specific to the vascular bed and systemic factors related to the development of atherosclerosis.
