Abstract: Entrepreneurial families constantly encounter challenges and opportunities in their pursuit of business successes. These encounters provide new contexts for research and create new areas of exploration for the families. In addition, as a social institution, families also evolve over time. This book is a collection of intellectual contributions from eight interdisciplinary research teams exploring the impact of family influence on business and family decisions. Earlier versions of these chapters have presented in the Global Forum Conference of International Family Enterprise Research Academy (IFERA) in November 2017. They represent some of the recent attempts to revisit the family-business interactions and their implications on innovations, growth, and successions. In this introductory chapter, we reviewed the literature of family-busines interface and highlight how these studies connect to the existing research interests.
