Abstract: This paper discusses the questions concerned with the Taman Expedition of the State Academy of the History of Material Culture (GAIMK) headed by Aleksandr A. Miller. Notwithstanding the ever-increasing number of publications devoted to the history of the national archaeology during the 1920s–1930s, many of its moments still remain unknown. This is true, inter alia, concerning the history of the organization and activities of the Taman Expedi- tion in 1930.
