Selfie appearance investment and peer feedback concern: Multimethod investigation of adolescent selfie practices and adjustment.
Year: 2021
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: was associated with excessive reassurance-seeking and lower body esteem. No associations were revealed between observationally-coded measures of selfie-posting frequency and psychosocial outcomes. Overall, findings suggest that frequency of selfie-posting may be less relevant for understanding adolescent adjustment than investment in and concern over the selfie-posting experience.
