Abstract: Failures : an attempt at an explanation Business failures seem to be a relatively permanent phenomenon. In a certain sense they represent the ultimate state of management for every company. Jean-François Malécot, assistant professor at the University of Paris XII, emphasises that they obey laws which must be understood in order to allow partners to evaluate the costs and the consequences at the first sign of the risk of failure.
