Abstract: For social aid and placement agencies, measuring the readiness of unemployed people to assume and hold a job is important for effective counseling, assignment of clients to programs, and monitoring of training outcomes.Traditionally, the assessment of individuals has been done in a cursory or intuitive fashion.Through the Analytic Hierarchy Process, the importance of the many aspects of-job readiness can be ascertained. Then by way of a user-friendly decision support system, the AMP results are used to both measure and monitor progress along job readiness dimensions.User response to the new tool is very positive.
