Abstract: Albeit it was believed that the military coup d'etats in African countries during the Cold War had occured as the result of the power struggle between the USA and the USSR, substantially, they are directly relevant to economic growth of these countries throughout post-colonialist era. The growth of the economies which hade been newly structured engendered interest-based disputes both among the local and bureaucratic elites, and among bureaucratic elites own. Parallel to this situation, the demands of the new bourgeoisies in these countries with the pervasive influence of globalisation played triggering role for the aforementioned disputes. Herein military coup d'etats served as regulator for the deteriorating government systems. In this paper, the relation between the military coup d'etats and the economic growth of African countries that had created new bourgeoies during the Cold War will be held and will be given place to the projections about the future of governmental systems of the Continent.
