Leucine stimulates mTOR and muscle protein synthesis in both animal and human
Year: 2009
Type: article
Abstract: Several studies shows that leucine contributes to the activation of mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signalling and to the inhibition of the adenosine monophosphate kinase (AMPK) activity, processes that potentially enhance protein synthesis and skeletal muscle growth.
