Abstract: ScopeThis dictionary provides a valency description of English consisting of 511 verbs, 274 nouns and 544 adjectives. The selection is justified (xl) on the basis of interesting but potentially conflicting criteria: “frequency, complexity of valency structures and potential difficulty for the foreign learner”.
