In vitro Characterization of Mesenchymal Stem Cell Biology on Biomimetic Poly-ε-caprolactone Nanofiber Scaffolding

Year: 2021
Type: other
Abstract: Results (cont.)•XTT results suggest MSCs achieve proliferation on the PCL nanofiber scaffolds.•Bright-field images provide qualitative confirmation of cell division and propagation on the scaffolds.•TUNEL/DAPI staining suggests trivial rate of cell apoptosis while growing to confluency on the nanofibers.•As expected, preliminary RT-PCR data showed no significant CD40 expression.•Future direction: optimization of MSC seeding on scaffolds; further RT-PCR (COL1A1, CD80, ADIPOQ, among others) and western blotting to understand any physiological differences between scaffoldseeded and plated MSCs; transplantation of MSCscaffold system into an animal model of myocardial infarction.
