The Role of Open Market and Education on Innovation in Emerging Economies

Abstract: The processes of globalization and liberalization have raised the competitiveness considerably in the world and made the innovation mandatory for firms and nations to survive.In this study, we explored the effects of trade liberalization together with FDI inflows and education on innovation on a sample of emerging economies over the period 1995-2017, by using panel cointegration and causality analyses.The findings revealed that trade liberalization, FDI inflows and education have a significant positive impact on innovation.
