Abstract: Behavior management systems such as Response to Intervention and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports have been created and implemented in various school districts around the country to help and support good behavior from students. For behavior systems to be successful, the classroom environment needs to be created to support the emotional and social needs of the students. Students are developing not only intellectually, but they are also learning who they are and what they need to be happy and feel safe within their classroom culture. The classroom environment is the support system and foundation of students??? emotional, social, and intellectual growth. Students learn and gain more than just content base material in school. They gain experiences, strategies, and support that will help their learning through the nurture and care found and provided by teachers. Teachers are the most excellent support and role model that a student can have in the classroom. It all begins with the teacher and their alignment with their profession. A teacher needs to self-reflect and align her goals in her role as an educator. Then, they need to step back and realize that students are in their individualized journey. A Nurturing Classroom Environment will create a loving and caring environment that will create a safe and welcoming space that students need to grow intellectually and emotionally.
