Abstract: The text discusses the characteristics and influences on social policies in the 21st century and their impacts on Brazilian health policy in the context of the State's counterreform.As a result of the analyzes during the doctoral process in Social Work, he developed an analysis of the situation based on authors from the critical perspective of Social Work.Based on these authors, it discussed the characteristics of neoliberal policies and the process engendered for the implementation of the State's counterreform project, which began in the 1990s and continues to this day.
