Abstract: Anterior disc height restoration of L4/5 was correlated with an increase of spinal canal diameter and decrease of ligamentum flavum diameter of upper level (L3/ 4).An increase of spinal neural canal by indirect decompression may affect adjacent level especially the lower level. While treating L4/5 pathology with OLIF procedure, surgeon should be aware of asymptomatic L5/S1 neural compression.Table Measured parameters on MRI; foraminal area (FA), foraminal height (FH), cross-sectional area (CSA), spinal canal diameter AP (SCD) and ligamentum flavum area (LFA) and plain radiographs; anterior disc height (DH ant), posterior disc height (DH post) and disc angulation were shown.Significant differences were (p< 0.05) were highlighted in gray.
