Abstract: Research has indicated that there may be many benefits from a course in LOGO programming. This paper looks at the main findings, and considers the implications for teachers and children in Scottish primary schools. It is argued that such research has limited relevance to the average primary school teacher, because of the nature of the LOGO courses undertaken by the subjects in the research projects. Moreover, recent work indicates that LOGO may lead to misunderstandings in children's knowledge of angle.
