Year: 2000
Type: article
Abstract: Mexico's is a developing economy which must narrow the gap in productive technology that separates it from the industrialized countries. This research proposes a link between national and foreign firms through cooperation agreements such as strategic-technological alliances, by which the former acquire technology and the latter obtain experience in market knowledge and the informal relations it implies. The main point is the degree in which these alliances foster or hinder the abilities oriented towards taking advantage of technology in such a competitive world.
