Abstract: A partir del estudio de los ornamentos de concha, ha sido posible reconstruir procesos de elaboración de estos artefactos. Las evidencias de producción confirman un trabajo local de la concha en diferentes regiones. Sin embargo, es probable que haya existido un intercambio de costumbres y tradiciones. Al comparar varias colecciones, se busca determinar qué tipo de contacto pudo existir entre diferentes regiones del Occidente y el Noroeste de México ¿Circulaban los bienes de prestigio como un objeto terminado o bien, el intercambio fue de tipo oral, involucrando conocimientos tecnológicos y culturales? ABSTRACT From the study of shell ornaments, it has been possible to consider forms of manufacture of the artifacts. Production evidence confirms local shell work in different regions. However, there is likely to have been an exchange of customs and traditions. With the comparison of different samples, it is sought to determine what type of contact may exist between different regions of the west and northwest of Mexico Did the prestige goods circulate as a finished object or was the exchange of oral type, involving technological and cultural knowledge?
