Abstract: Our Learning Disabilities Service Ethical Advisory Board has been running for nearly 2 years. It supports good ethical practice in our service through both addressing referrals of specific dilemmas (e.g. consent questions, conflicts of interests and duty of care/personal choice problems) and sharing outcomes of wider debates with staff in the service. The group is keen to improve its education, and as part of that initiative, is seeking to establish a dialogue with other such groups around the country. Sharing ideas, solutions, information and minimizing the re-invention of the wheel could be fostered by such links. If you are involved in a local ethical advisory group and consider that such ‘networking’ would be beneficial, please make contact with us at the address below.
