Corrigendum: Cyanine Dyes Containing Quinoline Moieties: History, Synthesis, Optical Properties, and Applications
Year: 2022
Type: erratum
Abstract: We would like to thank Prof. Heinz Mustroph for providing his comments (see Correspondence https://doi.org/10.1002/chem.202103714), and we are correcting two of the minor errors that he found in our Review article, as shown below. The structure of the first compound outlined in Figure 7 and labeled as Ethyl Red was drawn incorrectly. The quinoline moieties should be connected by the 2 to 4 positions (1,1′diethyl-2,4′- cyanine iodide) and not by the 4 positions as show in the new Figure 7. Dyes used as photosensitizers in photography. Compounds 36 and 37 shown in Scheme 8 are quinoline-containing viologen analogs, and they are not considered as dimethine cyanine dyes due to the presence of the two positively-charged nitrogen atoms.
