Abstract: Publication of this issue of the Journal of Investigative Dermatology (JID) and this editorial marks the end of my term as Editor. The experience has been as engaging and as rewarding as I hoped it would be, but 5 years is long enough. My successor, Erwin Tschachler from the University of Vienna (Vienna, Austria), is a great choice to be the next JID Editor, and I am certain that JID, the Society for Investigative Dermatology (SID), and the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR) will all benefit from his leadership.
