Type: article
Abstract: The statement that contemporary reality is fluid and constantly changing has been common for some time both in scientific discourse and in public opinion. These changes include not only politics or economics, but also social and cultural life. Due to the enormity of opportunities offered by the modern world, individual entity must make constant choices and many decisions in his everyday life, oscillating between two extremes set by trends – on the one hand living “in an instant” and on the other, the so-called “slow life”. The aim of conducted qualitative research was to understand how contemporary everyday life can be perceived by young people belonging to Generation Y, Millennium generation. The article is focused on the values that these people can present today. Based on the analysis and interpretation of the narrative interview content, it was pointed out how the narrative, included in the metaphor of “life as a game”, fits into the salutogenetic theory by Aaron Antonovsky, constituting its interesting exemplification.
