Fibronectin‐Aggrecan Complex As a Marker for Cartilage Degradation in Non‐Arthritic Hips

Abstract: Hip arthroscopy in the face of arthritis has been shown to have inferior outcomes. Cytokine concentrations, and fibronectin-aggrecan complex (FAC) in particular, has been shown to correlate with cartilage damage. Cytokines may be useful in identifying patients who would benefit from arthroscopic intervention and has not been reported in the hip. Our objective was to report hip synovial fluid cytokine concentrations in hips with and without radiographic arthritis.
