Association of Socioeconomic Status (SES) with Outcomes of Autologous Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation (AHCT) for Multiple Myeloma

Year: 2016
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: AHCT is standard part of upfront therapy for eligible patients with multiple myeloma. Healthcare disparities, such as race/ethnicity and SES, have been associated with access and outcomes of allogeneic transplantation. Disparities have been less well described for AHCT recipients and the impact of SES on AHCT outcomes for myeloma is not known. To address this question, we conducted a single institution retrospective cohort study of 346 consecutive AHCT recipients with myeloma transplanted between 2003 and 2013.
