Abstract: Celebrating the international year of the periodic table of chemical elements is an exciting opportunity to enhance public interest in Chemistry. This year, the Chemistry Department at PUCP developed a set of different activities on campus and on social media to engage our community with the periodic table and to promote the role Chemistry has in our daily lives. In this presentation, we describe the design, delivery and impact assessment of these activities, which included a contest to create a phrase using only the periodic table elements, a periodic table-themed escape room, a bingo game, among others. This celebration has been a great opportunity to establish and improve collaborative work with other disciplines in our school, and with industries and academic societies in Peru, as well as to promote an interest in science among potential students, their families and the general public.
