Abstract: Статья посвящена буддийской ступе, традиционному архитектурному сооружению. Перевод статьи Локеша Чандры из «Словаря буддийской иконографии» выполнен С.М. Белокуровой. Ступа – не только пластически выразительный объект, но и своего рода икона с глубокой и многоуровневой символикой, системой пропорционирования и отражением сложнейших элементов буддийской метафизики. The article is about the Buddhist stupa, a traditional architectural structure. It is translation by S. M. Belokurova of article from the Dictionary of Buddhist Iconography by Lokesh Chandra. The stupa is not only a plastically expressive object, but also a kind of icon with a deep and multi-level symbolism, a proportional system and a reflection of the most complex elements of Buddhist metaphysics.
