Abstract: Two articles in this month’s issue of the Journal highlight progress in understanding intracellular pathways of fibrogenesis due to hepatitis C virus (HCV), and a potential new approach to imaging hepatic fibrosis using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Together, they illustrate the steady, successful assault on the problem of hepatic fibrosis, both in uncovering its mechanisms and advancing its clinical management.
