Abstract: Geopoetics is a slippery-flippery concept, one that jumps about and slyly avoids getting captured in definitive ways. The elusive somewhat tricky and sneaky nature of geopoetics is exactly the nature of the concept's productive potential, the source of its potential radicalism and exactly why radical critical geographers might want to embrace it. Geopoetics demands that geographers and poets take responsibility upon accepting the open-ended invitation. Geopoetics resists being captured and subsumed into political economy, perhaps geopoetics slows a reader/viewer/listener down and presents a different conception of time. Perhaps geopoetics refuses nationalism and colonial borders, lineating words on new territory. Part of critical geography's work is pushing against dominant forms of power, is always making and understanding the world in radically new ways.
