Abstract: nosis to pyriform aperture stenosis.Anterior appearance of the nose is the main suggestive finding for pyriform aperture stenosis. The anteroposterior views of the patients were clearly showing narrow nasal base with slit-like nostrils, implying pyriform aperture stenosis. The surgery should be directed accordingly after confirmatory axial CT evaluation.Surgical widening of the stenosis provided functional and cosmetic benefits. We have to decide what the margin is between stenosis and normal. The authors need more cases to determine the lowest pyriform aperture width not causing obstructive symptoms. It is still not clear how narrow pyriform aperture can lead to obstructive symptoms. CONCLUSIONI n this study, the pyriform aperture stenosis as a cause of nasal obstruction in adulthood was documented.Normative data of the width of the nasal bony inlet were defined in adults. The results were found as normal distribution with close SDs.Widening the stenotic pyriform aperture by surgical drilling using the sublabial approach was found an effective and adequate surgical treatment.
