Abstract: A special programme of collaborative research in computing science and computer applications has been proposed by a Science Research Council panel. The panel, under the chairmanship of Dr D H Roberts (Plessey Components Ltd), proposes that the programme should start in three main areas: new applications, education and training, and new technology.
