Abstract: Currently the development of information and communication technology is very rapid. Everyone can access various information and entertainment from all over the world through the internet, especially social media. Behind the various advantages that exist on social media, of course this platform also has disadvantages. The purpose of this study is to find out how social construction and the impact of using social media are for KPI UIN KH. Abdurrahman Wahid students. To achieve the objectives of this research, this research uses a qualitative descriptive method, namely by providing an overview of the social construction of technology using social media and the impact it has on KPI students. The data collection used in this study were observation and interviews, besides that it was also obtained from relevant books and journals. Technology cannot be separated from human life today. In social construction, technology is created to answer and fulfill human needs. Like social media which was created to meet human needs in interacting with other people without the limitations of space and time.
