Abstract: This article presents the main findings from a major series of cross-national reviews of lifelong career guidance systems and policies conducted between 2001 and 2010. While there were some precursors, these reviews represent the most extensive international database ever assembled on such systems. The extent and nature of the reviews are outlined, with some comments on their methodology. Some of the main lessons from the reviews are summarised, and their impact is assessed.
