Synthetic Sling Failure: Evaluations and Recommendations

Year: 2022
Type: report
Abstract: The information and evaluations provided in this report were compiled to address the recurring problem of synthetic sling failure. As safety is the number one priority in all work aspects, a solution must be devised to prevent accidents from occurring. In revision 0, a total of thirteen cases regarding synthetic sling failure were evaluated in order to determine their causes, effects, and preventative measures. From the collected data, it was found that all cases in which the synthetic sling contacted the edge of its load resulted in sling failure. Revision 1 provides updated synthetic fling failures between the years of 2009 revision 0 and 2021 revision 1.
