Abstract: The study is based on identifying the extent to which the library and information specialists in the Egyptian central libraries possess the skills and competencies that make them able to deal with big data One of the most important results of the study is that library and information specialists possess personal competencies to a large degree, professional and technical competencies, and data management skills to a moderate degree.Egyptian librarians maintain continuous communication with professional associations, professional associations and library departments to follow up on training courses that will raise their skills towards dealing with big data in libraries.And libraries departments in Egyptian universities should introduce a big data course to prepare graduates and give them experiences in dealing with, analyzing and benefiting from big data.
