Abstract: This document describes the research and development (R&D) plan for Second Target Station (STS) instruments and bunker. The R&D program at STS seeks to mitigate risk and develop new technologies that will enhance performance for deployment on the eight instruments that are part of the STS project. Currently, STS is actively developing six of the eight instruments. This document is expected to be revised as the R&D program progresses and activities begin on the remaining two instruments (VERDI and EXPANSE).
