Abstract: We appreciate the interest of Sina A Tegethoff and colleagues in our multiomics model for identifying predictive biomarkers of COVID-19 severity.1 Notably, they appreciate the large sample size and number of biomarkers tested in our study. They raise a concern that some of the samples in our study were collected from patients several days after hospital admission. Our study design centred around the use of earliest available samples collected during COVID-19-related illness from participants with COVID-19.
