Abstract: Surgical technologies in the treatment of patients with rib fractures are currently represented by a fairly wide range of interventions aimed in most cases at stabilizing fractures and fixing ribs [1, 2]. The evolution of the technique of surgical interventions has gone from the imposition of simple fixation wire sutures during thoracotomy to the use of special anatomical rib plates [3–5]. In this regard, the indications for surgical treatment of rib fractures have expanded and somewhat changed [6, 7]. If in many early studies the reasons for fixation were floating fractures of the ribs and the patient’s dependence on artificial lung ventilation (ALV), then at the present stage, traumatic deformities of the chest, bruises and ruptures of the lungs, pain syndrome are considered as indications for osteosynthesis of the ribs [8– 10]. An important factor in determining the indications for multiple fractures is the acceleration of callus formation, which is achieved during the primary repair of a fracture by osteosynthesis, which makes it possible to reduce the period of disability and rehabilitation of the victims [11, 12].
