Abstract: Sarcopenia is usually defined as loss of muscle mass and muscle function 1 .Sarcopenia has important health and economic implications; it is related to functional disabilities, risk of falling and a higher rate of outpatient visits in the elderly 2 .Furthermore, it is a common complication of cirrhosis 3 .
